Glass Partitioning Without Blocking Light

A recent installation at Cumberland Terrace, Mayfair, combines architectural glass with contemporary spa and steamroom designs. Studio DAR Architects worked with architectural glass specialists Ion Glass to design and install a large glass enclosure as part of an extensive refurbishment to the property's steamroom and spa area.
The frameless glass enclosure (pictured), creates a distinct partition between the studio and steamroom / plunge pool areas, whilst allowing light to flow and maintain the feeling of space. The toughened glass is set into a steel channel within the stonework, providing a totally concealed system, whilst minimalist polished chrome hinges selected for the glass doors enhance the contemporary styling.
The further installation of glass balustrades, studio mirrors and shower screens within the property, demonstrates the versatility of glass in a leisure setting, says the company.
