River & Rowing Museum, Henley

Bespoke Glass Balustrades

Project

Ion Glass were commissioned by the River & Rowing Museum.

Products

External glass balustrading for the entrance area.

Technical Information

Glass balustrading was specified for the Museum’s entrance area to achieve frameless custom glass solutions to complement the existing 1960’s structure. The frameless glass balustrades maintain light flow, produce clean lines and integrate perfectly with the full size windows and glass frontage.

Ion technicians made templates of the glass balustrade to ensure each panel was manufactured to the correct size. Glass panels were manufactured in 15mm toughened glass and resin set into a purpose built stainless steel channel for a functional, robust and fully frameless design. The balustrade is finished with a stainless steel handrail for safe usage whilst retaining the minimalist styling.
