Bespoke frameless shower room

Project

Maximising space can add value to a home as well as increasing the functionality of the existing rooms.

A recent project in a luxury residential property used clever design to create an ensuite shower room from what was previously an awkwardly shaped and little used attic space.

The room was opened up with a large velux window to maximise light and a frameless glass shower enclosure created a spacious wet floor shower under a sloping ceiling.

Two frameless glass panels were fitted with a large central glass door hung off one of the fixed glass panels. A discreet stabilising bar fixed to one of the glass panels ensures the integrity of this wholly bespoke shower enclosure, providing maximum stability for the shower door. Minimal sprung hinges in stainless steel were fitted to the door, with matching brackets fixing the glass panels to the wall.

The room was finished with a bespoke over-sized glass mirror, reflecting the light and adding to the spacious feel of the shower-room.

A spokesperson for Ion Glass commented, ‘This room was created as part of a much bigger project involving a number of bespoke frameless shower enclosures within the home, glass wall cladding and structural glass. The result is a stunning example of how to convert an underused storage area into a beautiful and stylish shower-room with a contemporary frameless shower enclosure.’
