Overview
Ion were commissioned to provide an impressive range of architectural glass at Cumberland Terrace in the heart of Mayfair. The entire property was refurbished, taking advantage of a wide range of custom structural glass solutions.
Technical Information
Glass balustrades stretching from floor to ceiling were installed to the property’s basement area, fixed using steel channels into both the floor and ceiling. Oak trim was applied to the staircase, concealing the channels and creating a contemporary uniformed finish. Frameless glass partitions were also installed to the basement area, creating clear partitions whilst maintaining a spacious and bright feeling to the area.
Bespoke coloured glass splashbacks were manufactured to the client’s specific colour reference and design to complement the newly installed cabinets, worktops and kitchen appliances. The coloured glass splashbacks also integrate sockets and cutouts, manufactured from accurately produced templates made by Ion’s technicians.
The gym presents a set of bespoke studio mirrors leading to a luxurious frameless glass enclosure, which creates a distinct partition between the studio and steamroom / plunge pool areas. Through to the shower area, Ion installed two tinted glass doors, frameless in design, utilising bespoke hinges and ironmongery. The result is a contemporary luxury home with a wide range of durable, functional and exceptionally beautiful glass installations.
