Glass Reception Counter, Boardroom Table Tops, Glass Worktops and Glass Splashbacks
Overview
Built in 1879 the Chapel was originally created as a great resource for St. Mary’s Church in Southend. Recently the Council granted permission to renovate the building and with the help of lottery funding to create a voluntary services hub for the Southend community. Ion Glass were called upon to provide custom glass solutions in order to improve the staff kitchen, reception area and meeting rooms.
Technical Information
Following initial site survey Ion created timber templates to replicate the shapes of the proposed glass worktops, splashbacks and table tops, including socket cutouts, drainer grooves and sink cutouts.
The heat-cured backpainted glass worktops were manufactured with 19mm toughened glass to provide a safe durable surface, whilst the splashbacks use 6mm toughened glass and the tables 10mm toughened glass. All items were supplied in Spearmint Green.
